Amarte Skin Care Products Review

Monday, February 25, 2013
I discovered a great line of skin care products via FB. Amarte provides a complete line of skin care products and I had the opportunity to try several of their skincare products.

I was sent various skin care samples and have to tell you I found most of what I used to work great.

I received enough to get me through about a week. I was a little disappointed I couldn't experience the full effects.
Some of my favorites are the Daily Wonder Cleansing Foam, Aqua Veil Hydrator, and Wonder Cream. I did receive other Amarte Skin Care products and like those as well also. You can find out more about Amarte Skin Care products on their website.

Like their website says "The Amarte skin care regimen – a luxurious experience of cleansing, hydration, rejuvenation and protection that really is a Daily Wonder."

Disclosure: I received sample skincare products in exchange for this review.

Zim’s Max-Freeze® and Zim’s® Maximum Heat™ Review and Giveaway

Friday, February 22, 2013
As someone who is in constant chronic pain from fibromyalgia I can tell you when I was approached by Zim’s USA and asked if I would like to review Zim’s Max-Freeze®and Zim’s® Maximum HeatI jumped at the chance. I've tried other pain creams and they work, but I wanted(needed) something specifically for fibromyalgia.

I received three of Zim products to try.

I love this product. It's all natural with a menthol scent. It a clear gel, which is a plus for me. I rubbed it on my shoulders, neck, and knees and could feel an instant relief. It's greaseless, has a vanishing scent, and no sulfates.

Directions: For adults and children 12 years and older. Apply and gently massage painful joints and/or muscles. Repeat as needed no more than 4 times a day. Wash hands after each use with cold water.

Zim's Max-Freeze Gel retails for $9.99 and you can get it here.

Max-Freeze Roll-On has to be my favorite. I love the convenience of a roll-on. I can throw Max-Freeze Roll-On in my purse and have it handy when I need relief.

The main thing I love about the roll-on is I can use it on my elbows, knees, or any place I hurt. Max-Freeze Roll-On retails for $9.99 on the website.

The last product I was sent to try was Zim's Maximum-Heat Gel. I found Maximum-Heat Gel to be strong so I prefer to use it at nighttime before bed. I can actually have an uneventful, pain-free sleep. The active ingredient is Maximum-Heat Gel is capsaicin which is great for all my nighttime aches and pains.

Because it is so strong it's recommended to test a small area first before use.

Directions: For adults 18 years and older. Ask a doctor for children under 18 years. First time users should test on a small area first. Apply to painful muscles and/or joints and gently massage area as needed. Do not apply more than 4 times in one day. Wash hands after each use with soap and cool water. Note: if treating hands, wait 30 minutes after applying to wash hands.

Maximum-Heat Gel retails for $9.99 and you can learn more here.

Thanks to the generosity of Zim's USA, one lucky reader win all three products(a $30 value). 18+, continental US only. All you have to do is enter on the Rafflecopter below.

Disclosure: I received Zim's USA products to facilitate this review and giveaway. All opinions are my own.

nuNAAT NAAT Treatment Curly Hair Care collection Review and Giveaway

Monday, February 18, 2013

I usually keep my hair cut short because of time, but mainly because of its kinks and curls I have to admit I hated my curls until I discovered a great line of products made especially for curly hair.

nuNAAT's NAAT Treatment for Curly Hair products are designed for people with curly hair who wear their hair curly for an increase in bounce and shine. Active natural ingredients include Cupuacu Butter, to provide superior moisturizing abilities, plus the strengthening properties of Keratin Protein.

I received the complete collection which included  a shampoo, conditioner, hair mask, and leave-in. The shampoo and conditioner are both rich and creamy. I love the tropical smell of coconut. It makes my hair manageable and I can actually run a comb through my thick hair without tangling.

With all the products you only have to use a little which goes a long way. I've also noticed less breakage since I've been using nuNAAT's NAAT Treatment for Curly Hair products. If you dread your curls (like I used too) don't fret any longer nuNAAT's NAAT Treatment for Curly Hair products is the perfect solution to tame the unruly beast you call your hair.

One lucky reader will win the entire nuNAAT  NAAT Treatment for Curly Hair product collection to help manage those unruly curls. Believe me your curly hair will love you and nuNAAT NAAT Treatment for Curly Hair products. For a chance to own this collection worth $25 just enter on the Rafflecopter below. To learn more about nuNAAT visit their website, FB, or twitter.

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

HAPPY VALIUMTINE'S DAY

Thursday, February 14, 2013

Yes, you read the title of my blog post correctly. As a 52 year old menopausal women I have no interest in candy(unless it's a lot of chocolate),flowers(bleeding hearts only please) or cards(give me a card with Maxine on  the front).

This year my gift of choice would be a bottle of heart-shaped Valium. My nerves are on edge, I have lost interest in all personal activities, so hubby dear do not shower me with love gifts this year, just go to the corner drugstore and pick up my 'candy' of choice this year and I'll be your Valentine. Happy Valentine's Day...whatever that means?

Disclaimer: I do not by any means condone the use of prescription drugs.

Dry Idea AdvancedDry Fresh! Review and Giveaway

Tuesday, February 12, 2013
I'm a Purex Insider and as a Purex Insider I get to try new products. I would never relate deodorant with detergent, but Purex Insiders get to try different brands. When I applied for the Dry Idea campaign I was familiar with Dry Idea, but had never used it. I have always preferred solid antiperspirant over roll-on until Dry Idea AdvancedDry.

There are several pluses to the Dry Idea woman's deodorant. I love the fresh scent. Dry Idea AdvancedDry is pulse activated and protects against wetness and odor up to 72 hours. These are all great for someone who is active and sweats a lot. I love it because I can roll it on and forget about it for three days. It actually works!

There are only a couple of downsides to the new Dry Idea AdvancedDry roll-on. It is sticky when first applied and tends to leak around the rim. However, these are only minor annoyances. I give  Dry Idea AdvancedDry Roll-on 4 stars against odor and wetness.

Dry Idea is giving lucky readers a chance to win big. Purex is proud to introduce the Never Let Them See You Sweat® Sweepstakes featuring Dry Idea AdvancedDry Fresh!  One lucky grand prize winner will receive $500, while 10 2nd place winners will receive a $50 prize!  Open to U.S only. The Dry Idea® Never Let Them See You Sweat® Sweepstakes (“Sweepstakes”) will begin at 10:00:00 a.m. Pacific Standard Time (“PST”) on February 11, 2013 and end at 3:00:00 p.m. PST on March 29, 2013 (“Promotion Period”).

High Heels and Hot Flashes is also giving 5 lucky readers a coupon for a free bottle of Dry Idea AdvancedDry Fresh. Enter on the Rafflecopter below for a chance to win. US only. Ends 2/28/13.

Disclosure: I received Dry Idea AdvancedDry Fresh Roll-on in conjunction with Purex Insiders for this review. All opinions in this review are my own.

FIRST AWARENESS DAY FOR RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS ESTABLISHED BY RHEUMATOID PATIENT FOUNDATION

Saturday, February 2, 2013
My mother suffered from Rheumatoid disease. She was in constant pain. I could never fathom the pain she was going through until years later. I don't have RA(RD), but I suffer from chronic pain and Fibromyalgia. I think it's important to educate about RD. Today is Rheumatoid Awareness Day!

Press Release:

Patients Increase Public Awareness of Underestimated Disease

February 2 already boasts the observance of Groundhog Day, from which several analogies can be drawn to rheumatoid disease. “Compare disease onset to the moment the groundhog comes out of his hole to look for his shadow,” says Kelly Young, founder of the RPF. “It’s impossible to predict how aggressive the disease will be or whether treatments will be effective. The six weeks that the groundhog forecasts correspond to the short window of opportunity for people with rheumatoid disease to get early diagnosis and treatment, which has been shown to be a crucial component of positive outcome.”
January 22, 2013 – Rheumatoid Patient Foundation (RPF) announces the establishment of Rheumatoid Awareness Day to be held each year on February 2, giving people with the chronic illness known as rheumatoid arthritis, or rheumatoid disease, a day of recognition. Because the disease is commonly presumed to be a type of arthritis, awareness is lacking, causing problems with disability accommodations, clinical care, healthcare reimbursement and research funding.
Rheumatoid arthritis is a progressive inflammatory disease causing damage to joint and organ tissues, resulting in severe pain, frequent disability, and increased mortality. For most patients, current treatments neither relieve all symptoms nor assure a healthy future. Remission is rare[1]. Rheumatoid disease affects about one percent of the world’s population, with 1.6 to 2 million Americans currently diagnosed. Mayo Clinic says lifetime risk of the disease is 3.6 percent for women and 1.7 percent for men[2].
Rheumatoid Awareness Day comes at the start of Heart Disease Awareness month, underscoring a serious aspect of rheumatoid disease: heart involvement. Studies show that rheumatoid disease may affect the heart prior to diagnosis[3]. Rheumatoid patients have higher incidence of stroke and atrial fibrillation[4] in addition to the specific effects of the disease upon the heart itself[5]. A study conducted by Mayo Clinic[6] reported that rheumatoid arthritis patients were twice as likely to experience silent heart attacks and sudden cardiac deaths.
The Rheumatoid Patient Foundation will support the first annual Rheumatoid Awareness Day with a campaign aimed at raising awareness and educating about rheumatoid disease. RPF encourages both the rheumatoid patient community and the public to get involved by sharing educational resources, promoting awareness messages via social media, participating in a live online chat and a matching donation opportunity. For information on how to support Rheumatoid Awareness Day, visithttp://rheum4us.org/rheumatoid-arthritis-awareness-day/.
Rheumatoid Patient Foundation
RPF is a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with rheumatoid diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and juvenile arthritis. RPF was founded in 2011 to address significant lack of disease education, comparatively low levels of research funding, and difficulty obtaining adequate treatment. RPF is committed to creating pathways to better clinical care and disease outcomes through education, awareness, and participation in patient-centered research. For more information, visithttp://rheum4us.org or follow us on Facebook http://www.facebook.com/rheumatoidpatientfoundation or Twitter http://www.twitter.com/RheumPF.
